What is argan?
Argania Spinosa is a tree that has very peculiar characteristics:
- It is only grown in a very specific part of the world, which makes it unique.
- Curiously enough, this tree can live up to 200 years with no water.
- The fruits it gives us are the precious oil of Argan.
The extraction has been declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, and this is due to the process which converts the seeds into oil without altering its properties. This method has been passed down from generation to generation. And this is what makes it so special, not only has it created a culture in society but also it has served as the sustenance of many families for centuries.
